I’m Chrishawna, also known as Purple.

Made by Purple is all about creating handmade crocheted hats that do more than keep you warm—they spread kindness too. For every hat you buy, one will be donated to someone who needs it. It’s my way of turning a little bit of yarn into a lot of love.

THE JOURNEY

Made by Purple was born from a crochet class my 10-year-old daughter, the self-professed blessing (I agree with her wholeheartedly, by the way), insisted I join with her at our church in November 2024. After the first AWFUL attempt at a hat, I determined to improve until I found my hands crocheting whenever they were still. A logo, scrap leather, and desire to help those in need later, Made by Purple is here to make “Warmth look good on everyone!”

The “buy a hat give a hat” model allows space to provide high-quality, handmade hats to clients and those who need them most. Through partnerships with local nonprofits to highlight the good of the Greater Cincinnati Metro area, Made by Purple is ready to grow!
